Nokia and Microsoft alliance introduces Windows Phone Smartphone for AT&T

Nokia and Microsoft alliance introduces its first High-speed Windows Phone for AT&T Inc. at Consumer Electronics Show 2012. This would aim the mobile wireless carrier company to lift Nokia and Microsoft to succeed in smartphone industry according to mobile news.Nokia will unleash its Lumia 900 model in the upcoming months that will carry AT&T as confirmed by Nokia, Microsoft and AT&T CES Las Vegas yesterday. The Lumia 900 will be the first Windows-based handset to be equipped with LTE or Long-Term Evolution technology. Nokia haven’t confirmed the price and the release date of the Lumia 900.AT&T is the second largest mobile wireless carrier in US that announced to have Windows-based handset from Nokia. The agreement is essential for Microsoft as it needs to modify its software as requested by AT&T. Nokia was depending on Microsoft to revive its software to succeed in the smartphone industry and to gain back its shares. Lumia 900 was believed as a key player to attract more users, developers and other partners to the platform.Nokia’s Chief Executive Officer Stephen Elop announced that, “The Lumia 900 is not only about a great device, but it’s also about inspiring a great ecosystem…An ecosystem is more than just the apps. It’s more than the device. It’s more than the operating system.”Stephen Elop, CEO Steve Ballmer of Microsoft and President Ralph de la Vega of AT&T Mobility show the confirmation of its association in CES 2012. The handset will have black and cyan colors with a display size of 4.3-inch (10.9- centimetre). Lumia 900 will have two cameras such as at the back that supported with wide-angle lenses and a front-facing camera and also features voice recognition for driving navigation purposes.Analyst Al Hilwa of IDC in Seattle stated that, “The Lumia 900 is probably the best device that has carried Windows Phone so far…This is a hot device. The issue is how quickly they can get it here. The market is moving at an incredible velocity.”HTC Corp. announced its Titan II that runs Windows Phone and equipped with LTE technology in CES 2012. AT&T will also introduce the handset Titan II that runs Windows phone OS as HTC is expecting to regain its market share from its declining quarterly profit for two years.At the event, Ballmer promoted his all new Lumia 900 with a missed call from Billgates from his speech with co-host Ryan Seacrest.Ballmer also announced the sold-out rate of its Xbox video game console had already reached 66 million units. He also announced that the company had sell Kinect sensor about 18 million units that allows a user to play video games through its motion. The company also confirmed the release of Kinect software that will support Windows PC will be on February 1 of this year.Regarding to the company’s Xbox live, the online gaming and entertainment had already earned 40 million members. For an effective and to strengthen the feature, Microsoft is planning to append contents from News Corp that will have Glee, House, New Girl, The Simpsons, Fox News and the Wall Street Journal’s video contents.For a user to be able to experience the upcoming feature, he has to confirm the notification that he had already paid the feature. The user who will avail will have a monthly payment of $5.00 for continuous video streaming and the income goes to Microsoft.News Corp. Chief Digital Officer Jon Miller stated that, “As we continue to find new ways to deliver content to consumers, this partnership with Xbox Live enables our viewers to experience News Corp.’s leading media brands in an entirely new and innovative environment,”According to John Stankey, the head of business solutions at the Dallas-based company that AT&T will expand its LTE network and append more devices to have larger Verizon Wireless for LTE devices to last longer. AT&T was set to expand over 26 cities in US.
